Kaum Muslim tentu berharap agar lebih lama lagi berada dalam lautan keberkahan dan ampunan di bulan Mubarak ini. Bahkan kalau mungkin, mereka berharap agar seluruh bulan dalam setahun adalah bulan Ramadhan. Namun, Allah SWT telah menetapkan Ramadhan hanya berjumlah 29 atau 30 hari. Bulan-bulan berikutnya adalah ladang tempat menumbuhkan benih ketakwaan yang disemai selama Ramadhan.

[Al-Islam 468] Sudah lebih dari tiga pekan, sejak terjadinya ledakan bom kembar di Ritz Carlton dan JW Marriot (17/07/2009) hingga sekarang, belum jelas benar penyelesaian kasus terorisme tersebut. Meski sudah ada kemajuan yang dicapai oleh pihak kepolisian dalam mengusut kasus ini.

Sejak awal, tokoh-tokoh ormas, partai dan gerakan Islam telah mengingatkan, agar tidak mengaitkan isu terorisme ini dengan Islam. Karena memang tidak ada kaitannya. Tetapi, ibarat cek kosong, isu terorisme ini bisa digunakan oleh siapapun, dan untuk kepentingan apapun.

More recently, it has been influenced by movies, television, sex, drugs, art, literature, and electronics. Since its birth, rock and roll has been grouped and regrouped into an explosion of styles: folk rock, soul, motown, hard rock, jazz rock, heavy metal, punk rock, reggae, new wave, rap and so on. Each type has its own style, themes, and stars. Two of the more successful styles are rap and reggae.

Nobody actually wants to hurt the feeling of others but, as business become ever more international. It is increasingly easy to get wrong. There may be a single European market but it does not mean that managers behave the same in Greece as they do in Denmark.

In many European countries handshaking is an automatic gesture. In France good manners require that on arriving at a business meeting a manager shakes hand with everyone present. This can be a demanding task and, in a crowded room, may require great efforts if the farthest hand is to be reached.

We all know that mobile phones, cellphones, hand-phones whatever we want to call them (and shouldn’t we all be calling them the same thing?) are changing our lives. But it takes a god old-fashioned survey to wake us up to the glaring reality: they have changed who we are. The mobile phone has indeed changed the way we behave. But perhaps we don’t realize how much we have become its slave. Consider other elements of the Siemens Mobile Survey: With the exception of Australia, in every country surveyed the majority polled said they would go back for their phone if they left it at home (in Australia it was a respectable 39%). If you’ve endured the traffic in Indonesia the Philippines and India, you’ll know what kind of sacrifice some two-thirds of those surveyed are making. I can’t think of anything I would go back for – except my wallet, maybe, or my clothes.

Throw out the bottles and boxes of drugs in your house. A new theory suggests that medicine could be bad for your health, which should at least come as good news to people who cannot afford to buy expensive medicine. Howefer, it is a blow to the medicine industry, and an even bigger blow to our confidence in the progress of science. This new theory argues that healing is at our fingertips : we can be healthy by doing Reiki on a regular basis.

Vitamin D deficiency is tradittionally associated with bone and muscle weakness, but in recent years a number of studies have shown that low levels of the vitamin may predispose the body to high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, and chronic blood vessel inflammation (associated with hardening of the arteries). It also alters hormone levels to increase insulin resistance, wich raises the risk of diabetes.

Jika di zaman orde lama sering kita dengar slogan yang mengatakan NASAKOM (nasionalis, agama dan komunis), maka baru – baru ini sering kita jumpai slogan yang bertuliskan “ nasionalis dan religius ”. Sobat tahukah kita bahwa dalam mengambil sebuah kata atau slogan, hendaknya kita senantiasa berhati – hati. Apakah itu berasal dari Islam atau bukan ? Kata nasionalis merupakan suatu hadlarah yang bukan berasal dari Islam. Hadlarah ini merupakan hasil dari kebudayaan barat yang bertujuan untuk memecah belah umat Islam. Khususnya setelah kekhilafahan Islamiyah runtuh pada tahun 1924.

Kaum muslimin dipersaudarakan dengan muslim yang lain di belahan bumi manapun, tanpa mengenal sekat – sekat geografis dan nasionalisme. Ikatan kaum muslimin adalah akidah islam. Dalam sabdanya Rasulullah SAW, menggambarkan bagaimana indahnya persaudaraan islam. ” Perumpamaan orang – orang mukmin dalam hal kasih sayang, belas kasihan, dan simpati adalah laksana satu tubuh. Dan jika salah satu anggota tubuhnya merintih, maka ia akan memanggil anggota tubuh lainnya. ” (HR Muslim dari An-Nu’man bi Basyir)
